On May 19-21 Troop 66 visited Hickory Run State Park, in White Haven, Pennsylvania for a weekend of tent camping and rafting. The troop visited Pocono Whitewater Adventure for an exciting and wet day of white water rafting in the frigid Lehigh River. Saturday morning began with some scouts participating in the cooking merit badge cooking breakfast for each patrol, while the other scouts made trail lunches for the boats. Following breakfast we journeyed to Pocono Whitewater Adventure. All scouts and adults participated in white water rafting, traveling over 12 miles over the course of 5 hours in very cold water. The rapids varied from still water all the way up to class 3 rapids. After a brief lunch stop on the river, we completed the adventure and returned to our camp for dinner, before a torrential downpour sent most people running to their tent.

 On Wednesday April 26, Troop 66 had its annual cake auction. It’s an event where families bid on cakes and the money goes to the scouts. There is also a potluck dinner for all the families. The money pays for camping throughout the year for all scouts. This year's auction had all different types of cakes from a rat cake to a cannoli cake. The event was successful as our highest bids per cake were over $200. It was a great event and all who attended had a great time and a great meal.

On April 21-23, Troop 66 visited Camp Bullowa, in Stony Point, New York for a weekend of tent camping. The weekend included our annual golden skillet cooking competition, Totin’ Chip training, and rifle shooting. Saturday morning began with every patrol making pancakes, followed by a hike to the shooting range. The troop, scouts and adults were able to shoot .22 rifles. After the rifle shooting, the patrols had lunch and knife and ax safety were taught to our younger scouts. After training each patrol was required to make a dinner and be judged on presentation and taste. The winner was not announced until Sunday morning. After a quick cleanup it was announced that the eagle patrol had won with their pho with spring rolls. 

 On March 24-26, Troop 66 visited Camp Winnebago in Rockaway New Jersey for a weekend of Lean-To camping. We had a weekend of hiking, advancement, training, and cooking lessons. The troop was able to hike on Jockey Hollow which was the first hike and new experience for our newer scouts. We had a dutch oven Baked Ziti cooking lesson taught by one of our older scouts. We ended our nights by congratulating two scouts who made it into the Order of Arrow which is an Honor Society for camping.

On January 15th of 2022, Troop 66 participated in the 2022 Klondike Derby at the Quail Hill Scout reservation. The Klondike Derby is a fun experience where Boy Scouts get to compete to show their skills in various events as well as bond with their patrol.  When we arrived at 7:30 about 2 groups of 5 scouts started by setting up the sleighs and weighing them on the scales. We received our schedule of randomly ordered events that included first aid, pioneering, cooking, team building, water rescue, soup kitchen, fire building, communication, and orienteering. We got the score cards and headed to our first station. The patrol I was in was assigned cooking first. Each person in the patrol was assigned to cook a brownie in an orange peel with coals. My patrol went through this task fairly easily by scooping out the oranges and using the peels as bowls that we wrapped in tin foil.
